Test

Certify and sign your application and we'll pay for it—up to $800

Application logo certification testing and code signing are critical next steps in moving your application to market. The Mobile2Market program makes it easy, and gives you access to the "Designed for Windows Mobile" logo.

Certification is required for participation in Microsoft promotional and marketing activities, including the Microsoft Certified Software Catalog.

Getting started is easy. Just visit the Mobile2Market Application Certification Website.

Guarantee compatibility. Receive free testing—worth $400

Application logo certification is the process of designing and building your application to adhere to a set of best practice design guidelines. By having applications logo-certified, you can benefit greatly by differentiating your applications in the market, and ensuring end-user satisfaction. And now, Microsoft will pay for the cost of your testing. Participate in the Mobile2Market program and receive not only technical support and customer leads, but a voucher good for US$400 in testing costs.

To receive your free testing, enroll your solution, retrieve your voucher code from the "Benefits" link in your solution dashboard, and contact NSTL, a Microsoft testing partner. The US$400 testing voucher is only valid when you submit your application for testing to NSTL. Testing services are also provided by QualityLogic and VeriTest. If you choose to use these testing partners, you will be responsible for the cost of testing.

Once your application has been certified, you'll qualify to display the Designed for Windows Mobile logos.

Learn more about the testing and certification process. Download the Designed for Windows Mobile 6 Standard Software Application Handbook and Designed for Windows Mobile 5.0 Software Application Handbook for Smartphone logo guidelines.

Ensure authenticity. Receive free code signing—worth $400

Mobile2Market code signing allows your Windows Mobile application to run on devices from nearly every mobile operator in the world with just one signing process. And now Microsoft will pay your code signing costs up to US$400 when you use VeriSign for your signing.

VeriSign Code Signing certificates allow you to digitally sign your content (software objects, macros, device drivers, firmware images, virus updates, configuration files, or mobile applications) for secure delivery over the Internet. VeriSign Code Signing Digital IDs also enable software developers to add a digital signature to software and macros including Microsoft Authenticode, Microsoft Office and VBA Signing.

You may also use GeoTrust for your code signing. However, Microsoft code signing vouchers are not valid with GeoTrust and you will be responsible for the cost of signing.
Having your Windows Mobile application code signed is simple:
  • Establish a publisher account with one of the Mobile2Market certificate authorities: VeriSign or GeoTrust. Microsoft code signing vouchers are only valid when you use VeriSign. If you choose to use GeoTrust, you will be responsible for the cost of code signing. (If needed, request privileged-mode execution permission from M2M@microsoft.com.)
  • Sign your application with a publisher certificate provided to you by a Mobile2Market certificate authority.
  • Upload your publisher-signed application to the certificate authority. They will sign your application with a Mobile2Market certificate and return it to you.
